The key equity barometers traded with slight gains in morning trades. Nifty moved in a range of 24703-24388. Nifty IT, Nifty Consumer Durables and Nifty Pharma shares rose, while Nifty Realty and Nifty Chemicals shares declined.

At 10:45 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, edged higher by 371.32 points or 0.47% to 79,681.33. The Nifty 50 index added 112.10 points or 0.46% to 24,648.70.

The broader market underperformed the frontline indices. The BSE 150 MidCap Index fell 1.42% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index recorded sharp losses of 1.73%.

The market breadth was unfavorable. On the BSE, 1671 shares gained and 2950 shares retreated. A total of 236 shares were unchanged.

Nifty IT index climbed 1.05% to 33183. The index has recorded robust gains of 16.03% in last one month and inched down 7.07% over last one year. Mphasis, up 3.09%, led the gainers followed by TCS, gaining 1.43% and HCL Technologies, adding 1.38%, respectively. Out of 10 index constituents, 8 are reporting gains today.

Nifty Consumer Durables index moved higher by 0.86% to 37691. The index has posted modest gains of 2.45% in last one month and edged lower by 1.38% over last one year. Kalyan Jewellers, edging up 4.59%, led the gainers followed by Titan Company, inching higher 3.04% and Crompton Gr. Con, up 1.67%, respectively. Out of 14 index constituents, 5 are reporting gains today.

Nifty Realty index fell 1.48%. The index has added 6.69% in last one month and posted modest losses of 5.36% over last one year. Anant Raj, retreating 5.63%, led the losers followed by Godrej Propert., easing 2.52% and Brigade Enterpr., slipping 2.28%, respectively. All 10 index constituents are reporting losses today.

Sectoral performance is mixed, with 7 of 14 indices trading in the green. Nifty IT index has rallied 16.03% in last one month and is lower by 7.07% over last year. Nifty Realty index has surged 6.69% in last one month and has lost 5.36% over last one year.

From NIFTY50 index, Billionbrains, Lenskart Solut. AND Vodafone Idea are leading in terms of volumes today, clocking turnover of 234234.39 lakh shares, 198941.23 lakh shares and 1031.03 lakh shares respectively.

Asian markets plunged on Friday. China’s Shanghai composite is firmly lower by 1.26%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is sharply lower by 1.33%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is substantially lower by 6.26%.

NIFTY50 Nov-26 futures are in discount of 46.60 points today.
