The key equity barometers traded with sharp gains in morning trades. Nifty moved in a range of 24442-24296. Nifty Auto, Nifty Financial Services and Nifty IT shares advanced.

At 10:45 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, jumped 1382.90 points or 1.79% to 78,684.30. The Nifty 50 index soared 417.45 points or 1.74% to 24,378.05.

The broader market failed to keep pace with frontline indices. The BSE 150 MidCap Index posted strong gains of 1.76% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index climbed 1.35%.

The market breadth was encouraging. On the BSE, 3771 shares advanced and 1023 shares declined. A total of 220 shares were unchanged.

Nifty Auto index soared 3.14% to 27338. The index has posted modest gains of 4.26% in last one month and lost 0.40% over last one year. Ashok Leyland, spiking 10.97%, led the gainers followed by Tata Motors PVeh, up 4.94% and Maruti Suzuki, adding 4.64%, respectively. Out of 15 index constituents, 14 are reporting gains today.

Nifty Financial Services index rallied 2.74% to 26282. The index has moved higher by 3.75% in last one month and inched down 5.94% over last one year. Shriram Finance, advancing 6.32%, led the gainers followed by SBI Cards, moving higher 6.26% and Cholaman.Inv.&Fn, rising 5.75%, respectively. All 20 constituents are advancing today.

Nifty IT index climbed 2.33% to 32808. The index has posted strong gains of 13.29% in last one month and edged lower by 9.11% over last one year. LTM, inching higher 3.56%, led the gainers followed by Infosys, gaining 2.84% and Tech Mahindra, edging up 2.74%, respectively. All 10 constituents are advancing today.

All 14 sectoral indices on NSE are trading in the green today. Nifty Auto index has rallied 4.26% in last one month and is marginally lower by 0.40% over last year. Nifty Chemicals index is modestly lower by 0.55% in last one month and is down 4.62% over last one year.

From NIFTY50 index, Yes Bank, Vodafone Idea AND NHPC Ltd are leading in terms of volumes today, clocking turnover of 1165.95 lakh shares, 753.65 lakh shares and 4239.45 lakh shares respectively.

Asian markets gained on Thursday. China’s Shanghai composite is slightly lower by 0.24%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is firmly higher by 3.25%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is firmly lower by 1.53%.

NIFTY50 Nov-26 futures are in discount of 13.45 points today.
