The key equity barometers traded with slight losses in morning trades. Nifty moved in a range of 22651-22455. Nifty Media, Nifty Auto and Nifty Realty shares gained, while Nifty PSU Bank and Nifty FMCG shares retreated.

At 10:45 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, moved lower by 376.46 points or 0.52% to 72,095.87. The Nifty 50 index edged lower by 39.10 points or 0.17% to 22,481.35.

The broader market outpaced the frontline indices. The BSE 150 MidCap Index inched up 0.56% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index rose 1.14%.

The market breadth was healthy. On the BSE, 3009 shares advanced and 1684 shares fell. A total of 285 shares were unchanged.

Nifty Media index rallied 2.82% to 1597. The index has risen slightly by 1.76% in last one month and moved lower by 0.27% over last one year. Prime Focus, climbing 8.04%, led the gainers followed by Tips Music, strengthening 5.80% and Zee Entertainmen, rising 5.24%, respectively. All 10 constituents are advancing today.

Nifty Auto index gained 1.36% to 25199. The index has tumbled 10.10% in last one month and edged lower by 6.50% over last one year. Tube Investments, up 3.24%, led the gainers followed by Bajaj Auto, inching higher 3.07% and TVS Motor Co., gaining 2.03%, respectively. All 15 constituents are advancing today.

Nifty PSU Bank index inched down 0.84%. The index has inched lower by 2.90% in last one month and moved higher by 7.36% over last one year. SBI, easing 1.39%, led the losers followed by Punjab Natl.Bank, edging lower 1.24% and Bank of India, down 0.71%, respectively. Out of 12 index constituents, 10 are reporting loss today.

Out of 14 sectoral indices on NSE, 8 are in green today. Nifty Media index has risen 1.76% in last one month and is marginally lower by 0.27% over last year. Nifty PSU Bank index has registered heavy losses of 2.90% in last one month and has gained 7.36% over last one year.

From NIFTY50 index, Lenskart Solut., Vodafone Idea AND Suzlon Energy are leading in terms of volumes today, clocking turnover of 192322.16 lakh shares, 719.58 lakh shares and 1456.65 lakh shares respectively.

Asian markets posted modest losses on Monday. China’s Shanghai composite is modestly lower by 0.27%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is marginally higher by 0.10%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is slightly lower by 0.02%.

NIFTY50 Oct-26 futures are in discount of 4.65 points today.
