The key equity barometers traded with marginal losses in morning trades. Nifty moved in a range of 22753-22570. Nifty Pharma and Nifty Healthcare Index shares rose, while Nifty Consumer Durables and Nifty Auto shares retreated.

At 10:45 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, edged lower by 568.68 points or 0.78% to 72,203.04. The Nifty 50 index retreated 184.75 points or 0.81% to 22,595.50.

The broader market surpassed the frontline indices. The BSE 150 MidCap Index fell 0.90% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index inched down 0.79%.

The market breadth was unfavorable. On the BSE, 1456 shares advanced and 3190 shares declined. A total of 226 shares were unchanged.

Nifty Pharma index moved higher by 0.37% to 26860. The index has posted modest losses of 0.85% in last one month and soared 24.62% over last one year. Mankind Pharma, up 2.40%, led the gainers followed by Abbott India, inching higher 2.02% and Dr Reddy's Labs, edging up 1.73%, respectively. Out of 20 index constituents, 13 are reporting gains today.

Nifty Healthcare Index index added 0.13% to 16559. The index has edged lower 1.56% in last one month and jumped 16.92% over last one year. Mankind Pharma, adding 2.40%, led the gainers followed by Abbott India, gaining 2.02% and Dr Reddy's Labs, adding 1.73%, respectively. Out of 20 index constituents, 12 are reporting gains today.

Nifty Consumer Durables index declined 1.56%. The index has shed 5.87% in last one month and posted modest gains of 1.93% over last one year. Whirlpool India, edging lower 4.02%, led the losers followed by Havells India, easing 3.27% and Amber Enterp., down 1.93%, respectively. Out of 13 index constituents, 12 are reporting loss today.

Out of 14 sectoral indices on NSE, 12 are in red today. Nifty Pharma index is down 0.85% in last one month and has rallied 24.62% over last year. Nifty Consumer Durables index has plunged 5.87% in last one month and is modestly higher by 1.93% over last one year.

From NIFTY50 index, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy AND Yes Bank are leading in terms of volumes today, clocking turnover of 1154.28 lakh shares, 1363.43 lakh shares and 732.08 lakh shares respectively.

Asian markets slumped on Tuesday. China’s Shanghai composite is marginally lower by 0.03%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading lower by 0.58%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is firmly lower by 1.35%.

NIFTY50 Sep-26 futures are in discount of 21.50 points today.
