Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index declines 3.24%, NIFTY Tumbles 1.56%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended down 3.24% at 8026.1 today. The index is down 7.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Bank of India slipped 5.76%, Bank of Maharashtra shed 4.75% and Union Bank of India fell 4.69%. The Nifty PSU Bank index is up 11.00% over last one year compared to the 7.60% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Realty index is down 2.12% and Nifty Energy index has dropped 2.00% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has dropped 1.56% to close at 22780.25 while the SENSEX is down 1.52% to close at 72771.72 today.
