Punjab National Bank receives Rs 3.78 crore penalty from Reserve Bank of India for compliance issues

Punjab National Bank (PNB) has disclosed that it has received a monetary penalty of Rs 3,78,460 from the Reserve Bank of India on August 12, 2026, for non-compliance with operational guidelines of Currency Chests as per the RBI’s Master Directions. The bank confirmed that the impact on its financial, operational, or other activities is quantifiable to the extent of the penalty amount.
