Japan stocks settle mixed

Japanese shares traded mixed on Thursday, with the Nikkei 225 dropping 0.2% to 66,132 and the Topix rising 0.15% to 4,117. Markets showed no clear direction as technology stocks performed variably.

Nvidia's strong sales outlook boosted sentiment, suggesting continued demand for AI infrastructure. Japanese tech firms benefit from the global AI boom, but Advantest, a Nvidia supplier, fell 3.1%. Meanwhile, Kioxia Holdings rose 5% after announcing plans for a new chipmaking plant in northern Japan to increase storage production for AI development.
