Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index declines 5.57%, NIFTY Tumbles 1.96%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended down 5.57% at 8517.2 today. The index is down 0.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Bank of India shed 8.32%, Indian Bank dropped 7.52% and Bank of Maharashtra fell 7.42%. The Nifty PSU Bank index is up 37.00% over last one year compared to the 6.78% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index is down 4.05% and Nifty Commodities index has slid 3.31% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has slid 1.96% to close at 24825.45 while the SENSEX has dropped 1.88% to close at 80722.94 today.
