Quick Wrap: Nifty FMCG Index rises 2.02%, NIFTY jumps 1.03%

Nifty FMCG index closed up 2.02% at 55853.9 today. The index is down 1.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Nestle India Ltd added 4.52%, Varun Beverages Ltd rose 3.58% and Tata Consumer Products Ltd jumped 3.15%. The Nifty FMCG index is down 10.00% over last one year compared to the 2.46% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Realty index added 1.90% and Nifty Private Bank index gained 1.48% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 1.03% to close at 25585.3 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 1.04% to close at 83467.66 today.
