RBI inducts Former ISRO chief S Somanath to Central Board

S Somnath, former chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (IISRO), was appointed to the central board of the Reserve Bank as a part-time, non-official director for four years, starting August 20, 2026. Somnath retired from Isro in January 2025. Additionally, the Central Government re-appointed Anand Gopal Mahindra as part-time, non-official director on the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India for four years, also effective from August 20, 2026, or until further orders.
