Rabi acreage edges up 2.65% on year

The total area sown under rabi crops in current winter season has edged up by 16.4 lakh hectares or 2.65% on year to 634.14 lakh hectares as on January 2 this year, data released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare showed. The area under wheat has moved up to 334.17 lakh hectares, up 1.86% on year.
