Usha Martin sells U M Cables’ optical fibre business to R R Kabel for Rs. 77 crore

Usha Martin Limited said its board and the board of its wholly owned subsidiary, U M Cables Limited, approved the sale of U M Cables’ optical fibre and related cable business to R R Kabel Limited for Rs. 77 crore, subject to working capital adjustments. The slump sale is intended to streamline Usha Martin’s portfolio and focus on its core wire and wire ropes business, with the transaction expected to be completed within 60 days of the Business Transfer Agreement execution, pending shareholder approval and other conditions.
