Wockhardt faces Rs 6.1 crore in penalties from customs officials over API export
 <p>Wockhardt Limited disclosed receipt of an Adjudication Order from the Commissioner of Customs, Nhava Sheva-II, imposing a penalty of Rs 50,00,00,000, a redemption fine of Rs 10,00,00,000, and a penalty of Rs 1,00,00,000 on Dr. Aravind Y Merwade, an officer of the company, related to the misclassification of an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) exported by the company, under the Customs Act of 1962; the company stated the order would have no material impact on its financials, operations, or other activities beyond the monetary penalties and intends to appeal the decision.</p>
