Government raises excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 2 per litre

The centre government has hiked excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 2 each. The Ministry of Finance noted that the change will come into force on 8th April, 2025. Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has informed the PSU Oil Marketing Companies that there will be no increase in retail prices of petrol and diesel.
